Sensibly Spotlight September 2025- Paneros Chloe Blouse

We are kicking off a new series on the blog- Sensibly spotlight! In this series, I am showcasing an item I have in my wardrobe that is featured on Sensibly. I will be giving a full review by going into the pros and cons, sizing, use cases/styling, etc. Up first is one of the first items on the first iteration of the site. This Sensibly Spotlight is dedicated to the Paneros Chloe Blouse.

The Paneros Chloe Blouse

This blouse comes in multiple colors, some patterns, and a long sleeve variant. I currently own it in off-white, black, the midnight garden pattern, the older daisy blues pattern, and navy. I would love to get it in the long sleeve version as well some day!

Sustainable Features

Paneros as a brand has many wonderful sustainability features and this blouse carries the following Sensibly values: Extended Sizing Natural Materials Non-Toxic Oeko-Tex Philanthropic Vegan Women-Owned. The buttons are real shell so do keep that in mind if you are looking at this as a vegan blouse, as some people have different preferences. The items are all made small batch and designed in Los Angeles and made ethically in Bali by Artisans earning a fair living wage.

Sizing

In terms of sizing, these come in xxs-xxl. I find that because the sizing is slightly oversized, you can get away with sizing a full size up or down and still get a similar fit. If in between sizes or if you want a tighter fit, I’d size down a size or two.

In fact, I own the shirt in 3 different sizes! I’ve bought some new and some secondhand so sizing was a risk on some and not necessarily the sizes I would have bought if they’d all been new, but they all seem to somehow work!

Materials

While all of the shirts are made ethically with 100% cotton, the pintucked solid designs feel a bit thicker to me and because of this weight, they flow differently. The patterned pieces are softer and drape on the body more. Although I like how my patterned tops fit in the larger size (they are both a medium), I did previously own the solid white in the medium and did not like that fit as much as I like the solid in a small or XS. If I had to choose the perfect size for me in either fabric, it would be the small. For reference, my bust measures 36 inches and waist is 30 inches.

Styling

One of the things that I love about these blouses are the versatility of them. They look great but different left open or tucked in. You can also pull the sleeves up to give more volume and a more feminine look, or down for a more casual look. I tend to tuck my shirts in and wear the sleeves pulled down or in the middle.

This is a close up look at each top styled a few different ways. Although the changes are subtle, you can see how the sleeve placement and styling make a difference to the overall look.

Wearability

The ruffles easily get wrinkled on this shirt. I didn’t do anything special to press them before these photos so this is how they look after a cold machine wash and air dry. On the navy, I did manually smooth out the ruffles and you can see that it makes a big difference, though it isn’t something I tend to worry about.

I purposely did not wear a nude bra under the white shirt to show you how nice and thick the fabric is as you can barely see the purple color through it. When wearing nude under it, a bra cannot be seen.

Although it has a bit of a puffed shoulder, which might not be everyone’s cup of tea, it is very subtle. I don’t necessarily gravitate towards poofy sleeves. However, the elastic and extra fabric on this sleeve not only have the versatility of styling options as discussed above, but it also means your armpits can breathe. This may sound silly, but this shirt works great for me in the heat, both in terms of sun coverage and not worrying about sweat stains.

Conclusion

I find these blouses super easy to wear, style, and care for and they’re the perfect elevated basic. The feminine details and nice fabric make them a great step above a typical t-shirt. They can easily be dressed up to be more formal. I’ve worn them for tons of different occasions.
