Ally just released a new shoe- the sock bootie! I was lucky enough to be part of the photoshoot so I got my hands (or feet, rather) on them before the release and I have been loving them! This post gives a review of the sock bootie as well as a discount code.
I talk about this boot and compare it with the ankle boots and tall boots in this video but want to give some space to focus purely on the sock bootie here.
Like all Ally shoes, this boot has been designed to be extremely comfortable- and it succeeds at the mission! The special Ally insoles are present in this boot and give incredible foot support, not just arch support, but full foot support. What makes these even more comfortable than the typical lineup is the incredibly soft stretch suede that envelops the foot and ankle. The heels are all block heels as well so they also have great stability.
Sizing/Fit
In the spirit of having the most comfortable shoes out there, Ally also commits to a wide range of sizes so we can all find the perfect fit. They come in sizes 4.5-12 and offer them in three different widths (medium, wide, and extra wide). I took my typical size 6 and went with the medium width. The middle of my foot can often by a bit wider than a typical medium width and occasionally in other shoe brands I teeter between a normal and wide width but the shape of the boot works perfectly for this and I did not need to go wider.
Size and Color Options
The boots come in two different colors and heel heights. The colors are a classic black and a beautiful dark chocolate brown shade. The heights are 2 and 3 inch heels. I personally find Ally block heels to be comfortable in both heights so I tend to go for the taller heel as I like the extra height and prefer the shape of the heel.
Another aspect of the sock bootie that I particularly like is that they come up higher on the ankle/leg. I’m someone who likes to wear a cropped jean in the summer with sandals and come Fall, I still want to wear those jeans but wearing them with low full coverage shoes/boots always produces the tiny band of skin showing around my ankle which I think looks funny. These boots are the perfect height to keep me warm and more stylish while still being easy to pull on.

As you can see, I wore these boots traipsing all around NYC and my feet stayed happy the whole time! I kept the tall/bold block sock booties in the black and have worn them a number of time since and plan to wear them tons more this season and years to come.
